At Rochester:
- Member of the football team during his undergraduate days as a quarterback with his older brother, George, serving as coach
Post-Graduate:
- Upon graduation in 1923, he joined the Yellowjacket coaching staff and served as an assistant coach under his brother from 1923-26
- Was also an official of the National Football Association
- For a long period, until his resignation in the spring of 1946, he was the head football coach at Aquinas Institute in Rochester where he won more than 70% of his games and achieved wide renown for the Aquinas program
- When he rejoined the Yellowjacket football staff, he was the advance scout, compiling information on future opponents
