LaRoy B. Thompson
- Senior Vice President and Treasurer of the University from 1970 until his passing in 1985
- He was also Treasurer of the Memorial Art Gallery
- Joined the University in 1946
- Awarded the University's President's Medal in 1985 in recognition of the distinction of his service
- Was a member of the board of directors of several institutions, including Chase Lincoln First Bank, Voplex Corporation, Rochester Area Hospitals Corporation, United Way, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce
- Was a friend of the Department of Sports and Recreation who was invaluable to the coaches and student athletes for his wise counsel and guidance
- An award is presented every year at the Chuck Resler Women's Basketball Tournament in his memory
- Graduated from the Cornell University School of Engineering in 1943
