First-Year Student Arrival

On Your Arrival Day

We can't wait to welcome you to campus! Your arrival day will consist of three required components:

  1. Residential Life Check-In (if you are living on campus)
  2. Welcome Week Check-In
  3. International Services Office Check-In (international students only)

On your arrival day, you can expect to pick up your campus ID card, your room key, and a welcome bag. If your family members are with you, they can also attend Welcome Week Check-In to pick up their own bag of goodies.

Fall 2022 First-Year Student Arrival and Move-In

Assigned Arrival Days

First-year students are required to arrive to campus or move into their assigned on-campus housing on the following days, except if you are a participant in an approved UR early arrival program (see below): 

  • Monday, August 22, 2022: International first-year students, including U.S. citizens living in other countries; and international students traveling to Rochester from other U.S. states or territories
  • Tuesday, August 23, 2022: First-year students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents, traveling to Rochester from other U.S. states or territories
