My Bus Home will arrange one-way and round trip transportation for the 2019-2020 academic breaks in private, fully insured motor coach buses with restrooms, DVD and Wi-Fi.The buses pick up on campus and go to/from a central location in:
- Allentown, PA, Bridgewater, NJ, NYC, and Jericho, Long Island
- Albany, NY and Ludlow and Newton, MA
- Mechanicsburg, PA, Columbia, MD and Arlington, VA (if there is sufficient interest)

For over 85 years, Trailways of New York has been operating comfortable, safe, affordable and reliable scheduled bus service throughout New York State and to the nearby destinations.Trailways buses travel from Rochester to/from a central location in:
- Syracuse, NY
- Binghamton, NY
- New York City (pick up on campus on Fridays; depart NYC on Sundays)
- Utica, NY
- Albany, NY
- Boston, MA

Ticket Price Comparisons
Amtrak provides affordable rail service along three routes. Trains depart from the Louise M. Slaughter station, which opened in 2017, in downtown Rochester.

The Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) is located just 2.5 miles west of campus. The airport hosts six airlines servicing 19 non-stop destinations.
Larger airports in the area include Buffalo Niagara (BUF) and Toronto Pearson (YYZ), providing more destinations a few hours' away. Both can be reasonably accessed from Rochester by bus, but the University does not provide shuttle service to the airports.
RideAmigos, the Department of Parking and Transportation Management's ridesharing program, connects commuters, provides transportation options, and offers sustainable choices. Students can manage their daily campus commuting needs, arrange trips home during holiday breaks, locate transportation to off-campus community events, and more. In addition to advanced rideshare and carpooling features, students can also make quick and convenient connections to other alternative modes of transportation, such as Zipcar, public transit, and walking and cycling routes.
Your student can get a ride in minutes with the Uber or Lyft apps. Both companies provide service to the greater Rochester area, and are a great option to get to the airport or bus station. The University of Rochester is not affiliated with Uber or Lyft. If you have specific ride questions, please contact the companies directly.
