NEW HOME: Brandon Zimmerman, a freshman optics major,
points out aspects of the new biomedical engineering and optics building
as he tours its construction with students and faculty this spring. When
it opens in 2007, the building—the first new building on the River
Campus since 1987—will be named for Robert Goergen ’60, a member
of the Board of Trustees, who pledged $10 million for its construction.
With Zimmerman on the tour are Jiang Yao, a postdoctoral fellow in biomechanics;
Jared Kanofsky ’06, a biomedical engineering major; Richard Waugh,
chair of biomedical engineering; Manoj Menon, a graduate student in biomedical
engineering; Sarah Lancianese, a biomedical engineering graduate student;
Amy Lerner, associate professor of biomedical engineering; Rolf Saager,
an optics graduate student; Wayne Knox, director of the Institute of Optics;
Thomas Bruno ’09, an optics major; and Ksenia Dolgaleva, a doctoral
student in optics. [More] |
