Pre-Departure Orientation

All students who submitted a study abroad application will be enrolled in a non-credit class (SAB 090) for the Pre-departure Orientation. This course includes online resources as well as a mandatory in-person group meeting. The course also covers topics such as health and safety, financial aid, budgeting, packing, transfer credit, and much more.

You are responsible for the following quizzes:

  • Academic Matters
  • Money Matters
  • Life Abroad
  • Staying Safe and Healthy
  • UR Future

Pre-departure Orientation also includes a mandatory pre-departure meeting for all students preparing to study abroad next semester. The meeting will address health, safety, and cross-cultural matters in an interactive format. The class meeting will be offered two times. You may attend any of these meetings, but you must attend one.

Pre-departure Class Meetings:

  • Tuesday, November 6, 5-7pm, Goergen 101 (Sloan Auditorium)
  • Friday, November 30, 4-6pm, Dewey Hall 1-101
