Timeline

Especially for transfer students

Transfer student registration is ongoing, so you may complete these steps earlier. Pay attention to your University of Rochester email for details from your Center for Advising Services (CAS) advisor. You will begin hearing from your academic advisor(s) within three weeks of deposit.

Transfer students can register for courses when their CAS advisor approves their schedule. Students with majors in the Hajim School of Engineering & Applied Sciences will also need their major department's approval.

Upon enrollment: Review your initial transfer credit evaluation (transfer students only)

Upon enrollment, an initial transfer credit evaluation (TCE) will be emailed to you based on the information you provided in your application materials. This initial evaluation will tell you what previous coursework will most likely transfer as credits towards a degree.

When you receive your initial TCE, you should review it carefully. If there are additional courses that you would like to submit for transfer credit, you can do so by completing a Course Approval Form. (Use the button below to view the form instructions.) While you can reach out to departments directly to request approval for transfer credit, we strongly recommend that you wait to connect with your academic advisor(s) to seek their advice on what courses will most likely be approved.

Once the advising team receives your final transcript, they will begin reviewing your initial TCE and make adjustments based your final transcript and academic department guidelines. Your final TCE will emailed to you beginning in early September.
