Singer Family Prize for Excellence in Secondary School Teaching

Nominations are open now through December 14, 2026.

To nominate a teacher, complete and submit the following nomination form. Refer to the about the award page for complete information regarding the Singer Family Prize.

The nomination description should identify the teacher you would like to nominate and describe the ways in which that teacher has been influential. Strong nominations will detail:

How the teacher's approach is unique
How students have changed after working with this teacher
How the teacher engages with the community
Ways that the teacher goes above and beyond in support of students (for example, fulfilling coaching, mentoring or tutoring roles in addition to teaching)

Please submit up to two pages of supporting information (300-400 words should suffice). Please contact academicexcellence@rochester.edu for any questions that you may have.

A committee of faculty members and non-senior students will review the completed nominations. Finalists for the award will be contacted and asked to submit additional supporting information. Based on that information, the committee will select a maximum of four winners.
