2. Footer options

While the footer component is a component of the website, it isn’t found in the same place as the rest of the varied-width components.

Finding the component settings

To create a new footer or to edit an existing one, visit Settings > Site Settings. Scrolling to the bottom will reveal the Footer Component settings.

Enable

This simple check box dictates if the footer component will be enabled or disabled.

Internal or External
  • Internal: If the footer component will only be used on the specific site, the internal option is the way to go. This will create a footer component only throughout the current website.
  • External: If the footer component is helpful across multiple websites, the external option is the way to go.
Quick links title

The quick links section of the footer component provides a space to add important/relevant links that should be easy to access to any page. A title for this section can be added to help give context to the links.

Quick links menu builder

Add content to the quick links section with the quick links menu builder. Here an icon, link, and title for the link can be added. Simple choose “add row” to add more links to the footer.

It’s important to stay visually constant by either adding icons to all the links or none of the links.

Address

The footer component has a special address field to give an address or location. This field clearly displays the information in the footer.

Phone number

The footer component also has a specific field to add a phone number.

Contact link

To create and display an easy means of contact use the contact link field. If you would like to link to an email address, type “mailto:” followed by the desired email address with no spaces in the URL area.

Example: mailto:emailAddressHere

Social Media

The right-hand side of the footer component has the ability to house social media links. Here’s how to create a social media link:

  1. Click the “add row” button.
  2. In the “Icon” column, search for the correct social media icon to add to the component.
  3. Under the “Link” column, add the URL for the social media page.
  4. Under the “Title” column, add a label for the social media, i.e., Facebook, etc.
  5. To add additional social media links, click the “add row” button and repeat steps 1-4.
