Eastman Institute for Oral Health

  • A new, first-of-its-kind specialty care dental clinic opened in 2019 to serve adult patients with medically complex conditions as well as intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Larger exam rooms, a wheelchair lift, a bariatric chair, and other special features help ease anxiety and provide a comforting experience. Since opening, the clinic has consistently been booked six months in advance.
  • Support helped EIOH renovate its campus facilities including new sedation suites in the hospital clinic and updated treatment rooms, a new library and study area, more conference and seminar rooms, and additional office spacefor faculty.
  • EIOH alumni, faculty, and hygienists are participating in the National Dental Practice Based Research Network that is producing unprecedented knowledge and will lead to improved patient care faster than ever before. The network helped EIOH to be named as a top 10-funded institution by the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, part of the National Institutes of Health.
