The University of Rochester Ain Center for Entrepreneurship is launching a new boot camp program designed for entrepreneurs, small business owners and aspiring small business owners in the greater Rochester community called “Buzz Lab: Four Saturdays for a Better Business.” This program, which runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., on the following four Saturdays, is supported by a University Center grant from the Economic Development Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce.

  • Feb. 10: Innovation and Strategies for Growth: Management of Ideas, Business Management/Bootstrapping, and PathStone Enterprise Center
  • Feb. 17: Running Your Business: Filtering Ideas, Hiring/HR/Interviewing, and Payroll
  • Feb. 24: Specialty Topics: Legal/IP, Property Management, and Food Regulations
  • Mar. 3: Marketing & Branding: Strategic Marketing, Trends, Internet Marketing, Social Media, and Pricing

  • This course is valued at $400. Through the Economic Development Administration grant program, University Center Scholarships are provided to all who register and the fee for participants for all four sessions is only $25. Payment can be made at the first session in the form of cash or check. We cannot process credit or debit cards.
  • Transportation is provided to and from the University of Rochester campus:
    • In Batavia, park and board the shuttle in the Conable Technology Lot at Genesee Community College by 9:15 a.m.
    • In Geneseo, park and board the shuttle at the Livingston County Economic Development office at 6 Court Street by 9:15 a.m.

Boot Camp Schedule

All classes will be held on the University of Rochester River Campus. Transportation is available for rural participants from Genesee, Wyoming and Livingston counties. Parking on River Campus is free on Saturdays.
