Declaring your Major
Students at the University of Rochester declare their major during their sophomore year. This allows them to use their first year to explore their interest and become confident in their major choice before selecting a program. Not sure where to start? Set up a meeting with an academic advisor.
In order to declare your major you will need to complete any required foundational courses in that program and prepare a tentative course plan, which includes how you will fulfill the Rochester Curriculm requirements. Some programs may also have a minimum GPA or program GPA requirement.
See the major declaration page for more information.
