Academic Administration: Accreditation and Assessment
The University of Rochester continuously monitors its progress in fulfilling its vision as a University of the Highest Order. The Office of Academic Administration supports the vision and the institutional motto, Meliora – ever better, by facilitating assessment practices to inform evidence-based change.
Activities of the office include the following:
- Convenes the University Committee on Educational Effectiveness Assessment to share best practices across the institution and support continuous improvement of teaching and learning
- Provides support and guidance for accreditation reporting
- Provides guidance and support for faculty on new program development – from drafting proposals to filing for state approvals
- Provides guidance and support for assessing and documenting continuous improvement efforts across the University

These professional development workshops are recorded and available to all faculty and staff at the University of Rochester. The goal of these sessions is to help faculty prepare to assess student learning online.
This series covers everything from adapting tests and quizzes, creating long-term projects, and supporting student writing using what you already know, and leveraging available technologies. The workshops are free at the link above for all faculty and staff.
