Deaf/Hard of Hearing Communication Access

The University is committed to ensuring that all events and activities are accessible to members of the University community and visitors.

Requests Made by Departments and Event Organizers

When an attendee indicates that American Sign Language interpretation or captioning is needed to participate in your event, it is strongly recommended that event organizers contact Deaf Professional Interpreter Services (DPIS) to process the communication access requests.

You will need to submit a request via our online Access Request for Deaf Professional/Learner RedCap Form.

In your request, please include event details and/or PDF of posters, webpage or social media invite links, as well as any materials that can be shared with the assigned interpreters in advance (such as the speaker's slides). These materials will greatly assist our interpreter in preparing for the assignment. Your cooperation in providing these materials is highly appreciated.

Our current external agencies are as follows:

  • Hear Inc Captioning
  • Heritage Interpreting
  • Interpretek
  • Keystone Interpreting Solutions
  • Sorenson Community Interpreting
  • White Coat Captioning
