About Panopto
Lecture Capture
Panopto is a lecture capture platform that enables the recording of audio and video. Several River Campus locations are equipped with Panopto. See the full list of locations here.
Some locations can record screen content as well. This offers a comprehensive capture of the classroom experience, providing students with a more engaging learning experience by combining the context of the instructor's presentation with the specific visual content being discussed, closely resembling the in-person classroom setting and enhancing comprehension of course material for remote or online learners.
There are two categories of Dual Recording:
Dual Mode - Lectern PC will only capture the content from the installed room computer. Dual Mode - Lectern PC cannot be used with any personal device/laptop. See the list of Dual Mode - Lectern PC capable rooms here.
Dual Mode - Projected Image will capture any device projected, i.e. a personal laptop/tablet, wireless presentation, or document camera. See the list of Dual Mode - Projected Image capable rooms here.
Panopto is integrated with Blackboard to restrict viewing only to students within the class they are for.
Recording requests made within less than one business day cannot be guaranteed. Requests will only be accepted from Instructors/Event Organizers.
