COVID-19 Resource Center
Help keep our community healthy by following the University’s COVID-19 safety guidelines.
UHS will provide self-test kits to students on demand at no cost. Please call our office at (585) 275-2662 to request test kits as needed.
If you were exposed to COVID-19:
Any student currently experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should contact University Health Service at (585) 275-2662 to report the symptoms. UHS will then follow up.
Students who test positive for COVID-19 will be required to isolate for a minimum of 5 days as per CDC and Monroe County Department of Public Health. Day 0 is the day a student first experiences symptoms, or if asymptomatic, the day of the positive COVID test.
You may end isolation 5 full days after you test positive if you have never experienced symptoms OR 5 days after the onset of symptoms if you are fever free for 72 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication and other symptoms have improved. Continue to wear a mask whenever you are around other people for another 5 days.
UHS received a limited supply of Pfizer bivalent booster vaccine and is scheduling appointments for University of Rochester students Please log into UHSConnect https://uhsconnect.ur.rochester.edu/ to check availability. From there you can self-schedule your appointment. Additional appointment dates will be made available in the future.
Please contact UHS at (585) 275-2662 with any questions.

All new and returning University of Rochester students are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a CDC or World Health Organization (WHO) approved vaccine. Fully vaccinated means receiving the initial dose(s) as described in the CDC or WHO approval.
Resources:
A COVID-19 booster dose is encouraged but not required at this time.
All new students should upload their proof of COVID-19 vaccination through the UHSConnect system. Review full instructions. Returning students who completed this upload process last year do not need to do it again.
Any student wishing to submit a request for an exemption to the COVID-19 vaccine should email hhf@uhs.rochester.edu to request the form.
Medical exemptions will require additional documentation from a provider to be uploaded and submitted with your exemption request form. Requests are processed in the order that they are received. Please allow 3-5 days for processing once you have submitted your request and the related documentation.
If you have tested positive for COVID-19 infection within the past 90 days, you can request a temporary exemption from the vaccine requirement. You will need to upload an image of your positive test through UHSConnect for this exemption.
If you are seeking a religious exemption from all vaccinations, please specify that in your email to hhf@uhs.rochester.edu. This type of exemption requires a different form and a different process.
