UHS Psychiatrist

Michael Christie, MD joined University Health Service in July 2016. Dr. Christie graduated from Haverford College and completed a Post-baccalaureate Premedical Program at Bryn Mawr College. Since receiving his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, he has completed residencies in both Family Medicine and Psychiatry, as well as a fellowship in HIV/Family Systems at the University of Rochester. Dr. Christie is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry and Family Medicine at the School of
Medicine and Dentistry. He is Board-Certified in Psychiatry/Neurology.

UHS Psychiatric Physician Assistant

Rachel Garofalo, PA-C, MACP, Psychiatric Physician Assistant. Ms. Garofalo joined University Health Service in August 2020. She received a Bachelor of Science and Arts in Psychology and Music from Union College, a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University, and a Bachelor of Science, Physician Assistant from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Ms. Garofalo is a board-certified Physician Assistant, specializing in Psychiatry and
Mental Health.

UHS Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Maya Schneider, DNP, RN, NP, PMHNP-BC, Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Dr. Schneider joined University Health Service in August 2018. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from San Francisco State University, a Bachelor of Science Degree and Master of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Rochester School of Nursing, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. Dr. Schneider is a board certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
