Confidential Billing

University Health Service Primary Care offers confidential billing. While all patient information, including test results, is kept entirely confidential, you may be concerned that a description of a test received at UHS Primary Care will appear on your parent or guardian’s health insurance bill. If this interests you, you can use the confidential billing process and pay out-of-pocket for the service(s) instead. Out-of-pocket fees for tests such as STI and pregnancy testing are affordable and typically range from $15 – $40. Simply request confidential billing when you visit the check-out window after your appointment.
Although confidentiality cannot be 100% guaranteed with this method, it is possible to have your personal health insurance bills and information sent to your address in Rochester by calling your insurance and requesting your EOBs (explanations of benefits) get shipped directly to you. This can typically be done even if you are listed as a beneficiary (member) on a parent’s insurance plan.
