Vanessa Peavy, LCSW joined the UCC in 2016. She graduated from Roberts Wesleyan College with her Master of Social Work where her concentration was in Clinical Mental Health. Prior to working at UCC, she worked as a Social Worker at The Villa of Hope and has experience working at the Rochester Psychiatric Center.

Passionate about working with students (both undergraduate and graduate), Vanessa’s clinical interests include the treatment of depression and anxiety, grief and loss, the impact of oppression on mental health, family systems, trauma, relationship issues and adjustment to college and other life transitions.

Vanessa uses an integrative approach to therapy in which she works collaboratively with her clients to find which interventions are best suited to meet individual needs. She Integrates concepts from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Positive Psychology.

When not at work, she enjoys gardening, singing, and traveling.
