Psychology Internship Program Admissions

Applicants for our five doctoral internship positions must be from APA or CPA accredited counseling or clinical programs, have completed at least three years of graduate work, have at least 200 hours of individual therapy experience with adults, and have completed their comprehensive exams by the time of application. The internship positions are for twelve months, beginning August 1 and ending July 31.

Some doctoral programs require their students to have additional training contracts and evaluations completed by their internship programs. The University of Rochester UCC internship does not enter into training contracts with academic training programs, and the UCC supervisors do not complete evaluations on interns developed by academic training programs. Our training program’s evaluation procedures are extensive and comprehensive and copies of completed evaluations are provided to doctoral programs. If you are enrolled in an academic training program that requires such training contracts and evaluations, you are strongly encouraged to consult with your Director of Clinical Training as to whether or not you are eligible to apply to our program.
