New myURHR Go-live Date

The University of Rochester is sharing new information regarding the myURHR project timeline. The implementation of the myURHR Workday and UKG systems is undeniably one of the most intricate systems modernization projects the University of Rochester has embarked upon in recent history. Readiness is imperative to a smooth systems implementation. Throughout the entirety of the project, checkpoints have been established to determine readiness for go-live. This week marks a key readiness checkpoint and after a thorough review of current progress compared to an in-depth readiness analysis, it has become clear that extending the myURHR project timeline, and ultimately go-live, is beneficial for the University of Rochester.

Executive sponsors in collaboration with the project team have chosen a new go-live date of Monday, December 16—an extension of approximately two-and-a-half months.

Why the extension?

Extending the go-live date from September 23 to December 16 will allow for increased readiness for all by:

  • Refining system configurations: Ensure all system features are working properly and meet University needs as planned.
  • Conducting more thorough testing: Additional time enables the project team to address the complexities of implementing two different systems simultaneously through more comprehensive testing.
  • Emphasizing training: Provide additional time for training to make sure everyone is well-prepared for the transition to myURHR Workday and UKG.

Additionally, the new December 16 go-live date has advantages of a clean calendar year break for payroll conversion and W2s, and it avoids planned system upgrades for the current suite of Workday platforms and UKG, which is utilized by some units for scheduling.

What happens next?

In the coming weeks, updated training schedules and resources will be released in MyPath for leaders, faculty and staff.

The University recognizes the impact that changes in project timelines can have on work and planning. Our primary goal remains to deliver robust and effective systems that meet our organization’s needs.

The University of Rochester is grateful for the hard work of the myURHR project team and change team members, and for the commitment to training from faculty and staff.
