A conversation with Kathy Gallucci: Modernizing employee communications

Kathy Gallucci talking from a podium in front of a group.

I am excited to introduce HR Connect—our new HR quarterly newsletter designed with you in mind.

Inside, you’ll find stories that reflect our vibrant community, spotlighting the incredible faculty and staff who make the University of Rochester thrive. Our goal with HR Connect is simple: to better connect you with the people, programs, and opportunities that support your growth, well-being, and success at the University of Rochester. Whether it’s career development and support resources, or benefits and wellness programs, we want to make it easier for you to see the full range of what’s available to you and to connect you directly with the people and information that can help.

Why now

As part of our HR Modernization efforts, we’re evolving how our HR team communicates with you. We’re moving toward a format that provides more in-depth, yet easier to digest information directly from our HR leaders and experts. You’ll get more practical advice, real-world insights, and helpful guidance from people who understand our community, offerings, and your needs.

Hearing from you

Communication is a two-way street. Many of you recently took part in the University’s benefits survey. Thank you for your input. We also just launched our first-ever, community-wide Employee Experience Survey on October 6. We’re eager for everyone to participate so we can learn from every corner of our organization. In addition, our recognition team is planning quarterly events to create more opportunities for faculty and staff to connect face-to-face with their colleagues, leaders, and even to meet some new people.
