Employee Assistance Program Offers New Peer Support Groups for Faculty and Staff

As we make our way through the pandemic, quarantine and an unusual holiday season, it’s normal to feel isolated and alone at times. To help, University employees can now tap into support from their peers via new Zoom support groups from Well-U and UR Medicine EAP.

These 30-minute Connect for Support sessions are free for faculty, managers and supervisors, as well as staff in non-management roles. Each session is led by an EAP counselor and will focus on self-care and coping strategies. The program kicks off Dec. 31. Ann E. Cornell, Psy.D., director of EAP, said it will meet a growing need for employees at all levels.

“These unprecedented times have presented many new challenges to employees, managers and faculty members,” said Cornell. “Trying to find time to seek support and to engage in self-care may seem impossible. Connect for Support creates a virtual space for employees to learn about coping strategies and to connect with and to support one another.”

If you are interested in participating, please refer to the events calendar to see session dates and sign up. Got questions? Email Well-U to learn more.
