New job and pay structure is here

On January 31, the University launched its new job and pay structure, providing staff with a transparent framework that aligns jobs, levels, and positions across the institution to deliver consistency, equity, and transparency to a wide variety of opportunities, roles, and career paths. You can access the new information for your job by using this direct link in HRMS or by taking the following steps:

  1. Log into HRMS
  2. Click Main Menu on the upper toolbar
  3. Select Self Service
  4. Select Job Structure Alignment

To enhance your understanding of our job and pay structure, we have updated our website with the following additional resources:

  • Job Catalog – leverage this one-stop-shop to gain line of sight to opportunities and career paths, understand where your role fits within our organization, explore the University’s many diverse roles and potential career paths of interests. The job catalog will expand in 2024 to include the following additional information to provide clarity of skills and experience that can be used to help guide your professional development at the University.
    • March 2024: each job’s general purpose (job summary) and required knowledge and experience
    • Fall 2024: each job’s essential functions
  • Pay Structure – get to know everything about our pay structure, including guiding principles and general and clinical university pay ranges.
  • Job Structure – gain a better understanding of the components of our job structure, including career streams, job levels, job family groups, and job families.
    • Our new Staff Titling Guidelines, found on the job structure page, provide transparency and consistency, both internally and with the external market.
  • FAQs – new FAQs on the job catalog, job leveling, pay ranges, job titles, and more are available to help you as we implement our new job and pay structures.

myURHR Demo Days 2.0

Get ready for myURHR Demo Days 2.0, happening late March through early June. Explore more of Workday and UKG—the two systems that power myURHR—before training launches this summer. New topics and live-guided tours will be offered. Zoom registration is available on the myURHR Demo Days webpage. All faculty, staff, and other University members are encouraged to participate in sessions relevant to your role. Plus, check out the “Did You Know” Fast Facts video featuring new information about myURHR, which will replace HRMS in the fall of 2024.

Performance evaluation reminders

The performance evaluation cycle for the University’s staff launched on Monday, February 12, 2024. Staff received notifications from MyPath to begin their self review. The ongoing performance evaluations for the University’s Medical Center staff are in the manager review stage.

As a reminder, the University’s annual performance evaluation process provides an opportunity for both managers and staff to receive feedback and evaluate progress over the last year, as well as set goals, plan projects, and establish timelines for the year ahead. All manager reviews must be completed by Friday, April 19 in MyPath. The employee acknowledgment step will be available for completion through June 30.

Getting ready for myURHR: top actions for managing change

While go-live for myURHR is several months away, now is a good time to start preparing ourselves and our teams for the changes coming. We know individuals react to change differently, and while some resistance to change is normal, it’s our response and support that can make a difference. View the managing change flyer for helpful guidance and top actions for managers to take in preparation for myURHR, the University’s new HR information system replacing HRMS this fall.

Celebrating Heart Month

In recognition of February as American Heart Month, the UR Medicine CPR kiosk is available in the Strong Memorial Hospital main lobby. The kiosk is designed to bring vital, hands-only CPR training to the Rochester region. Visit YoUR Heartsaver Hub for more information and to learn how to request CPR training for yourself or your team.

Utilize your MetLife Legal Plan

If you enrolled in the MetLife Legal Plan, don’t forget to take advantage of it. New this year, you will have access to Intuit Turbo Tax to do your taxes this year. When you log into the MetLife legal website, the link for TurboTax is on the top of the page. You have to register your MetLife legal account and create a password to utilize this benefit.

VSP vision care reminder

If you enrolled in VSP vision care for 2024 (you would see Benefit Extras Before Tax on your pay slip), you don’t need a card to utilize your benefits. When you go to a vision appointment, you can tell them your VSP ID number, which is three zeros followed by your employee ID number. For more information about your coverage, please visit the HR website.

Each month, Well-U will suggest three wellness options to help you complete the Well-U 2024 Bingo board found here. Once you earn Bingo (by filling in a full row in any direction), use the QR code in the center square to email Well-U. Please attach a photo of your completed Bingo card and include your name, employee ID number, and interoffice mailbox (or home address) to receive your prize!

  1. For the square labeled “Create one healthy habit”: Choose a small and achievable goal, one that even seems inconsequential, because once you are successful with that one, you can start another.
  2. For the square labeled “Try a new fruit or vegetable”: Solve the daily dinner struggle with Well-U’s lifestyle management Registered Dietitian April Ho on Thursday, February 22 at noon.
