Dependent Eligibility Verification Audit FAQs
FAQs are coming soon.
What is a dependent eligibility verification audit?
It’s a process to confirm that all dependents enrolled in the University’s health and dental plans meet eligibility requirements. This helps ensure only eligible individuals are covered.
Why is this audit being done?
We want to make sure our health and dental plans are being used fairly and that benefits are only provided to dependents who are eligible. This helps control costs for everyone and ensures compliance with our plan rules.
When does the audit start and end?
The audit is targeted to begin in January 2026 and conclude in March 2026.
What happens if I don’t respond by the deadline?
If you don’t submit the required documentation, your unverified dependents may be removed from coverage.
What documents will I need to provide?
Documentation depends on the dependent type. The audit team will provide a full list of acceptable documents upon launch. In the interim, you can find standard document examples on our website. The intent of this list is to provide standard examples; the audit will have a comprehensive list of accepted documents.
Is my personal information secure?
Yes. All submitted documents are encrypted and stored securely. Upon completion of the program, submitted documents are properly destroyed.
Who do I contact with questions?
Once the audit begins, the audit vendor will be available to address any questions. In the meantime, initial questions can be sent to totalrewards@rochester.edu.
What can I do in preparation for this audit?
Review our list of eligible dependents and ensure dependents covered under your selections during Open Enrollment reflect eligible dependents according the Plan.
