2022 Medical Center Performance Evaluations

The beginning of a new year marks the launch of the annual performance evaluation cycle for the Medical Center. This process provides an opportunity for both managers and employees to receive feedback and evaluate progress over the last year, as well as set goals, plan projects, and establish timelines for the year ahead.

Last year, in an effort to capture the extraordinary efforts of faculty and staff during challenging times, the University modified the traditional performance evaluations and shifted the timeline to better accommodate manager and employee needs.

After much consideration and feedback from our community, rather than return to the traditional performance evaluation, the Medical Center will be launching an updated template that reflects our approach to our work in 2022. It will be a hybrid of the longer, traditional approach and 2021’s more concise focus on our values. There will be one version for managers with direct reports and another version for all other employees.

The 2022 template will have a particular focus on our ICARE and Meliora values, especially our commitment to an inclusive culture. The evaluation will return to a rating system for some topics, but we have enhanced this feature to include a better description of each level rather than a star-system, and amended the number of choices for each rating. It also aims to provide opportunities for objectivity and reflection while considering the challenging circumstances of our environment over the last year.

2022 Performance Evaluation Schedule:

Medical Center staff self-reviews: February 15 – March 15
Medical Center manager reviews: March 16 – April 30

If you have any questions, please contact your supervisor or your HR Business Partner. Performance evaluations for non-Medical Center staff will be announced soon.
