Effective August 1, 2025, the University will discontinue the use of Contagion Pay for COVID-19 leave, consistent with the expiration of the New York state mandate. Employees who test positive or experience symptoms of COVID-19 should use Paid Time Off or Sick Leave, as appropriate to record their absences.
Anyone with symptoms of a respiratory virus—including COVID-19—should stay home and avoid contact with others. Employees should only return to work after they have been fever-free for at least 24 hours (without fever-reducing medication) and as overall symptoms improve. When returning to work, employees should follow their manager’s guidance based on their specific work location.
