News

2025 Open Enrollment is October 16–30

Open Enrollment for 2025 University of Rochester benefits will be held earlier this year, running from October 16 to October 30, 2024. Be on the lookout for more information and materials coming your way in October.

Preventing Harassment and Discrimination

Each year, as required by New York State, faculty and staff complete training on how to identify and react to workplace harassment and discrimination. Training is now assigned in MyPath and must be completed by December 31. This training supports aligning the behavior of our community with our Meliora values and is also an important component of the University’s equity and inclusion efforts to ensure a safe workplace for all. To fulfill this year’s requirement, the University is utilizing the Sexual Harassment Prevention training provided by New York State.

Paid Breaks for Employees to Express Milk

In compliance with New York State Law, University of Rochester employees are able to take paid break time when there is a need to pump breast milk at work. Employees should connect directly with their supervisors to coordinate break time for this purpose. For more information, see the Notice for Expressing Breast Milk at Work and the University Policy on Break Time and Workplace Accommodations for Lactating Employees (#174).

Manager’s Tips

myURHR Training Reports for Managers

myURHR Training is underway for all faculty, managers, staff, student workers, and other University members. Visit MyPath to get started and follow the learning transcript to maximize your training experience.

NEW: Managers can track the progress of training in MyPath via two new reports.

Training metrics by division will be shared with managers as we approach go-live. Managers and coordinators are strongly encouraged to begin their training now to ensure there is sufficient time to complete all courses before go-live. Additionally, it’s essential that all staff have adequate time and space to complete training so they are familiar with Workday and UKG.

myURHR, your modern HR workspace replacing HRMS, is live on December 16.

Out-of-State Work

While the majority of University staff work at a campus location in Rochester, there may be some instances where it is necessary to hire an individual or approve a work location outside of New York State. To review the policy, learn about the request process, and for answers to frequently asked questions, visit the HR website for information on Out-of-State Work.
