URCP Application

The goal of the UR Career Pathways program is to recruit and retain a diverse workforce through access and opportunities to grow and develop a successful career with the University of Rochester.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Must have been employed by the University for at least one year in current regular full-time position, prior to submission of the application
    • Please Note: Eligibility criteria for nursing positions, including LPN and RN, require employment with the organization or in a current role for at least nine (9) months.
  • Must have been continuously employed during the most recent performance review period and received a minimum Meets Expectation (or Successful)
  • Is in good standing (no disciplinary action in the last six months)
  • Is interested in career development at the University
  • Has been recommended by a current manager who will support release time to attend trainings and/or educational needs
  • Will remain an active employee (full-time status is required) throughout the program and will complete the program
  • Individuals who have already been accepted into an academic degree program are not eligible to participate.
Application Process
  1. Applications must be submitted by quarterly enrollment deadlines of January 1st, April 1st, July 1st, October 1st to be considered for an upcoming cohort.

    *Please include your most recent resume, if available.
  2. An applicant must discuss their interest in the program with their manager PRIOR to submitting the application.
  3. Applications will be screened and if the applicant meets the eligibility criteria, the UR Career Pathways team will contact their manager, explain the program and participant obligations, and request a manager recommendation.
  4. Number of openings in the URCP program is limited, and the URCP team will review all screened applications and manager recommendation forms, selecting the final candidates.
  5. Applicant will be contacted with the selection decision and provided any next steps.
Application Timeline
  • Applications will be screened on a quarterly basis:
    • January 1st, April 1st, July 1st, and October 1st.
  • All applicants will receive a written response of the final selection decision.
