Short-Term Disability (STD) pays all or part of a basic salary for an eligible individual who is absent from work due to illness or disability that is not related to the job, and which prevents the individual from performing University duties.
Short-Term Disability benefits begin with the eighth consecutive day of a sick absence.
You can find the full details in the official University Short-Term Disability policy on the University’s policies website.

Hartford will provide employees with any paperwork required and confirm the next steps. Employees must also keep their supervisor advised of their anticipated return to work date.
